The festive season is around the corner, and we are all geared up to look our best. 1-month yoga routines for getting into shape for Ganesh Chaturthi with Yoga. Yoga is a way of life.

Some essential lifestyle changes and essential yoga tips –

Routines

Get up early by 6 am and go to bed early by 10 pm. Switch off your iPhones, iPod’s, mac books, androids, and social media.

Early morning before getting out of bed-

Do stretches and yoga poses like Yastikasana, Suptvakrasana, simple stretches before you get out of bed. (Please vacate your bladder and use the washroom then do stretches and then get out of bed)

Before going to sleep each night-

Before you sleep go into abdominal IV pranayama posture, breathe slowly in a rhythmic manner without jerks. Do few rounds. You will sleep better. Try to keep inhale and exhale count equal.

Balanced Diet

Cut out processed foods, take-outs, refined and packaged foods (Yes even your favourite brand of noodles and biscuits.) Eat home-cooked meals. Chew your food properly. Hydrate yourself well. Eat a small portion of meals every four hours. Include seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Cut out aerated beverages since they are high in sugars.

Tame your thoughts and emotions

Yoga techniques like Pratipaksha Bhavana, Anitya Bhavan helps. Let go of past. Travel light! Share jokes and healthy WhatsApp message. Stop Instagram and WhatsApp overindulgence. Get a grip and limit the social media addiction. Does wonders to your cervical and will ease the “trigger finger” symptoms.

Brisk Walks

Brisk Walks are the best form of gentle exercise. Have some fun in the sun and walk daily for 30 minutes. Find time and make the effort!

Laugh it’s that simple!

LOL-Laughing out loud causes the diaphragm muscle to rise and fall. Laughing helps to use crucial facial muscles and helps better circulation of blood to the facial region making its rosiness come to life. It helps to burn calories and releases happy hormones. LOL can be a good stress buster with entire family after a hard day of work. It does wonders to boost your immune system, and helps lose weight!

  • Pranayama I, IV (5 rounds)
  • Guided Meditation 10 minutes (with positive affirmations)

Day 2 – Approximately 45 Minutes Session

  • 5 minutes warm up with stretching exercises.
  • Suryanamaskar (Sun Salutations) (10 rounds)
  • Paschimottanasana (5 rounds)
  • Naukasana (Boat pose) (5 rounds)
  • Pranayama II, III (5 rounds), Anulom Vilom Pranayama (5 rounds)
  • Relaxation Shavasana

Day 3 – Approximately 45 Minutes Session

  • 5 minutes warm up with stretching exercises.
  • Suryanamaskar (10 rounds)
  • Ardha Matsyendrasana (5 rounds)
  • Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) (5 rounds)
  • Pranayama V (5 rounds), Anulom Vilom Pranayama (5 rounds)
  • Relaxation Yogendra Laya

Day 4- Approximately 45 Minutes Session

  • 5 minutes warm up with stretching exercises.
  • Suryanamaskar (10 rounds)
  • Dhanurasana (Bow Pose) (5 rounds)
  • Vakrasana (5 rounds)
  • Pranayama VI (5 rounds), Anulom Vilom Pranayama (5 rounds)
  • Relaxation Shavasana

Day 5- Approximately 45 Minutes Session

  • 5 minutes warm up with stretching exercises.
  • Suryanamaskar (10 rounds)
  • Utkatasana (Chair Pose) (5 rounds)
  • Matsyasana (Fish Pose) (5 rounds)
  • Pranayama VII (5 rounds), Anulom Vilom Pranayama (5 rounds)
  • Relaxation Anitya Bhavana & Pratipaksh Bhavana

Day 6- Approximately 45 Minutes Session

  • 5 minutes warm up with stretching exercises.
  • Suryanamaskar (10 rounds)
  • Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) (5 rounds)
  • Sarvangasana (5 rounds)
  • Pranayama VIII (5 rounds), Anulom Vilom Pranayama (5 rounds)
  • Relaxation Shavasana

Day 7- Approximately 45 Minutes Session

Repeat and practice for one month to reduce unwanted fats and get into shape. Above model is for guidance you can work out with your experienced yoga teacher & chart out your personal plan.
