"So we come to the next important sutra and that has to tell us about the various tips of yoga and how they work. They work at reducing the various hindrances, impurities and make it easier for subsequent yoga. Basically what we have to understand is that yoga would mean overcoming of the Kleshas - overcoming of those defects which we keep on talking about - Avidhya, Asmita, Raga, Dvesha, these have to be overcome and this overcoming work is carried out by the various techniques. So that's what the sutra is telling us, that when we follow yoga, we are actually working at overcoming these kinds of hindrances. We can't just forget that. We can't just talk of yoga and believe that we will land into the yogic land. Things like untruth, these have to be overcome.

23rd Aug 2014 - Sunday - Saucha "One easiest way after watching the movie is to have a piece of good cloth and keep cleaning. This is the way. See, we are unclean from inside as much as from outside. Wrong thoughts, wrong desires, they go on adding. The real work is to maintain the purity from inside. Always have good thoughts and a sense of purity. No sooner we do that, than our mind becomes pure and we feel better."24th Aug 2014 - Monday - Saucha "Saucha is today's topic, cleanliness - in a world which is very unclean. But we just can't understand the meaning of this because all that we are doing is done with bad motives, disturbed states of mind, hurry, worry and still we are expecting the results to be good. And somehow it doesn't happen. So Saucha is a word worth considering. It is only when we are internally very stable, undisturbed and are able to look at things in a quiet, peaceful way this Saucha can come. We have to work hard."

The topic for the English Satsang on Sunday, 24th August, 2014 was 'Saucha (Purity/Cleanliness).'

Following is the transcript of the Q & A between the audience and Smt. Hansaji J. Yogendra.

Listen to the audio:Check this out on ChirbitQ. We are taught that we should either talk positive and good or keep quiet. But if we are keeping quiet, others take advantage of us. They make us do all the work because we don't say 'No' and they pass on their part of the work also on us. What should we do? Dr. J: Just observe the work and forget the rest. Don't think. Smt. H: Who says don't say 'No'? You can always say 'No'. And always take the responsibility with a question mark. Like I remember Dr. Jayadeva's grandfather, Founder's father. He was a school teacher and he was alone. His wife was no more. He used to go to the market to buy things. So on the way some neighbours would say, 'Kaka, you are going to market, get some lemons and coriander for us." And he would say, "If possible, I will bring." If suppose he has lots of luggage, he will not bring it. So this is how we can carry on; "If possible, I will do it." And if we can't at all, just say, "I wont be able to." Be clear, be truthful. And as far as his case was concerned, majority of the time, it was possible for him to bring it. The point is, learn to say 'No' and if you are doing it, do only how much you can in an allotted time. Don't extend the time of your work. Then it is okay, work. Nothing is wrong.Q. How to overcome gas problem the yoga way?

17th Aug 2014 - Sunday - Difficulties in the path of Yoga "We have come here to listen to a great person who has followed yoga in his life and is gracious with others also. See, yoga would mean application. Apply everything you learn. Not just talk. If you can follow this, you can overcome all your difficulties. That's what one has to do."18th Aug 2014 - Monday - Brahmacharya "So we have today 'Brahmacharya ashram'. You see this was considered as one of the stages of life. It also has many other meanings. Brahmacharis are those who give away all their material moral comforts. The idea is to give away things that one was clinging to, to get free."

"This is the final culmination of the state of a person. Now the point is that the person has reached the Rutumbara state where only pure knowledge exists. Everything else is gone. Then there is Vivek Khyati, he is remaining in Aviplava state, in the state throughout. Nothing can disturb that state. And now his Chitta is going to uplift. And these are the seven stages in which a person, step-by-step is releasing or uplifting himself.

10th Aug 2014 - Sunday - Positive rituals "The idea is that we should have good thoughts, good feelings sometime during the day. More important - before food. Those kinds of thoughts enter into the mind and can get deep. And as a result, can influence our life. So we have to understand that rituals and these kinds of things have meaning and they can arouse certain deeper thinking. And if it is done from early childhood, they get fixed. You can try and see."11th Aug 2014 - Monday - Satya "We are talking about these virtues, Satya and all the rest. They are accepted, but never followed. You see, deep down between us, we have the contrary tendency. We see something and say something else. That creates confusion. So we have to change these habits. We have to see things correctly and convey them correctly. This is truth."
