"Our routines should be so healthy that it has a good effect on our body, health, mind, attitudes and interpersonal relationships. Rituals should only be such that they would not be a burden on us. If they are a burden, the whole point of rituals is lost.
Small rituals taught in childhood, like joining hands in front of God, remembering God before sleeping, these have great effect on the person. With this, we get a peace of mind and strength with the faith that some power is there which is protecting us

Check this out on Chirbit Q. Rising inflation causes insecurity. How to overcome this feeling? Smt. H: Yogah Cittavritti Nirodhah – Stop thinking. Insecurity comes when there is lack of faith. Faith needs to be developed. There was one person who came to me, all worried about inflation and the future. Are you getting food to eat today?” He said, there was no problem in that. So I told him, “Then be happy.” We don’t know what will happen in the future. Learn to live in the present and that would solve the problem. Q. Material possessions don’t make much difference to me. But I want more and more time with my husband. Is that wrong?

Listen to the Audio: Check this out on ChirbitSantosh, in yoga philosophy comes under Niyamas. Yamas teach us how to manage with the outside world and Niyamas show us what we should do for our own development. The first of the Niyamas is Sauca – external and internal purity, purity of body and even of thoughts. The second Niyama is contentment which is related to purity of our emotions and feelings. Where there is discontentment, there is negativity and mistakes. To live a discontented life is very wrong because such a person can never be happy. They will always want more and not learn to be happy with what is already there.

Check this out on Chirbit Q. Does Sauca also mean purification of thoughts? Dr. J: Most definitely. Smt. H: Yes, it is very necessary to bring about purity of thoughts in the mind. Always try to have good thoughts and remove wrong thoughts. Q. How do we maintain purity of thought when today’s world is full of negativity? Dr. J: Well, there is a lot of trash in the trash cans, still we are maintaining internal cleanliness. So even if there are so many unclean things, we can maintain cleanliness. Smt. H: This is what we are trying to say. The world is what it is, but you should do something for yourself. See to it that you don’t start thinking negatively or start doing wrong things just because others are doing it. At least you can keep yourself in check and do your work well.
