Dr. Jayadeva on Routines & Discipline at the Satsang 23rd Dec 2012

The topic for the Hindi Satsang on Sunday, 23rd Decemebr, 2012 was Routines & Discipline.

Following is the transcript of the speech made by Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra on the topic.

Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra

“Here we are recommending to follow routines. But inspite of listening to these things, we just don’t. Our routines are just the same old routines and the same old problems. So this is our tragedy. We are not of that kind that if we understand something, we immediately put it into life. That would have helped. Very ordinary things are suggested, just like, getting up a little early, going for a walk, taking a little interest in some Asanas, breakfast at the right time and all that. Not difficult, but we are not in a mind to follow all of this. We want to listen, we want to read, but we are not able to follow. Unless that kind of a thinking comes where after such a lecture, a person decides on just one single thing and the person can carry on. Then only improvement can happen. Otherwise, no amount of listening or reading can help.”

Satsang is an open meeting held every Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at The Yoga Institute, Santacruz East, Mumbai. It involves an interesting presentation to the public, made by the students of the Teacher Training Course. Each week, a new presentation of a Yogic concept is made in a simple way through skits and decoration for the general public, followed by a short speech from our Gurus, Dr. Jayadeva and Smt. Hansaji Yogendra.
