“See, I’m also an old man. One need not feel always concerned and worried as one grows old. There are different different phases of life and there is lot of newness and even a certain joy when you get to this stage. Accepting changes and trying to enjoy would be the better attitude. You see, every stage of life provides us new opportunities and if we can use them, they provide us lot of joy also. I know of old people who are enjoying with their little grandchildren, playing pranks and running about. There is no sadness. Unfortunately, we disconnect ourselves and don’t think about children much and on the contrary have stories to tell about their behaviour. Let us try and understand that these are also passing phases and they are there for our learning and growing. We may be able to improve our life if we can cultivate an attitude of participation, of joy and understanding. Every age has its own value or meaning and let us make it a glorious time as we are getting older, surrounded by our children and their children and contributing whatever little we can happily, joyfully. I think old age can also be a good time! Let us try.”
Satsang is an open meeting held every Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at The Yoga Institute, Santacruz East, Mumbai. It involves an interesting presentation to the public, made by the students of the Teacher Training Course. Each week, a new presentation of a Yogic concept is made in a simple way through skits and decoration for the general public, followed by a short speech from our Gurus, Dr. Jayadeva and Smt. Hansaji Yogendra.
