Everyone loves music and no festival would be complete without out it. So head to the Harmony Stage to catch performers from all over the world who will sing and play live throughout the festival, energizing the environment with their positive vibes and giving visitors a sense of calm and composure.

 

Our Harmony Stage will feature some of the biggest artists in India like Shankar Mahadevan who will be performing on ‘ My Country My Music’ , Sukhwinder Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj,and also inspiring and popular bands like Dharavi Rocks, Kabir Cafe, the Prem Joshua Band and Indian Ocean. A special audio-visual treat is Flamenco Kathaa, presenting the two dance forms flamenco and kathak in a fusion by flamenco artist Kunal Om and kathak dancer Aditi Bhagwat that will leave you spellbound.

SHANKAR MAHADEVAN

Shankar Mahadevan is an Indian singer and composer who was born in Chembur, Mumbai into a Tamil Iyer family. He learned Hindustani classical and Carnatic music as a child, and began playing the veena at age five. Mahadevan then went on to study music under Pandit Shrinivas Khale and earned his first award as a playback singer in a Tamil movie, collaborating with A. R. Rahman and winning a National Film Award for his song in “Kandukondain Kandukondain”. A prominent star in the Kodambakkam film industry, Mahadevan later gained more recognition by releasing his first music album called “Breathless” in 1998. He later got into music direction and became a part of the Shankar Ehsaan Loy trio, composing music for Hindi films.

She is known for her work on “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (2013), “Haider” (2014) and “7 Khoon Maaf” (2011), among others. The talented performer, who not only sings in Hindi but also in Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Malayalam, has received two Filmfare Awards and one National Award. She is married to noted filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.

REKHA BHARDWAJ

Rekha Bhardwaj is an Indian singer and live performer who needs no introduction. She is known for her work on “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (2013), “Haider” (2014) and “7 Khoon Maaf” (2011), among others. The talented performer, who not only sings in Hindi but also in Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Malayalam, has received two Filmfare Awards and one National Award. She is married to noted filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.

RAHUL SHARMA

Rahul Sharma has carved a niche for himself in the World of Indian Classical and Fusion World Music, with over 60 released albums spanning a career of 15 years. This young Artiste has experimented with his Music and taken the 100 Stringed Santoor (Instrument which he plays) into various genres from Classical to New Age and World Fusion/electronica. Rahul learnt Music and the Santoor from His Father and Guru Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, who is a Music legend in India and the World over. Rahul has been awared with MTV IMMIES best album award for ‘Zen’. Best music director at Bollywood Music awards Newyork for ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’. Bismillah Khan YUVA puruskar etc.

Widely recognized as the pioneers of the fusion rock genre in India, the musical style of the band is unique, fusing ragas with rock music, traditional drums with guitars, sometimes even using Indian folk songs. The band has released seven albums till date and their music has been featured in many popular films.

They transform junk into musical instruments, using water storage drums, cans, sticks, glass bottles, metal caps and other inventive materials. They regularly practice at Dharavi, where they also prepare for gigs. They have performed at The Mumbai Assembly, The BlueFROG, STOMP the Festival and more. The junk percussionists stand out wherever they go and have collaborated with musicians the world over.

FLAMENCO KATHAA

Flamenco Kathaa, is a one of a kind collaboration. The concept is marked by Kathak exponent Aditi Bhagwat & Flamenco Artist Kunal Om’s artistic journey. The audience will see Aditi and Kunal weaving traditional Kathak repertoire and authentic Flamenco compositions together. The Flamenco shoes and the Kathak ghungroos come alive, sometimes speak, sometimes argue, giving a collective rhythmic experience that leaves a sparkle in the eyes of the viewers. The artists converse with captivating jugalbandis (trade off) between the Cajon (Spanish Percussive instrument) and Tabla. The Violin adds the element of melodies, both Indian classical and Spanish and is seen blending in with the Flamenco Guitar.
