The Yoga Institute marks the birth of the Lord Krishna with an evening of melodious Raas Leela with world renowned playback singer Sukhwinder Singh’s live performance on 25th August 2016. Along with celebrating Janmashtami, the Institute also commemorated 100 years of the first ever meeting between the divine Guru Paramhansa Madhavadasji and his first disciple whom. He was searching for ‘a hundred years’.  Young ‘Mani’ who, with his Guru’s blessings, became known as Shri Yogendraji – the first Householder Yogi to bring Yoga out of the jungles so that common people could benefit from the ancient Yogic wisdom.

The evening kicked off with Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh taking the blessings of Smt. Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra. Renowned for his dance-on-train song ‘Chaiyya-Chaiyya’ and ‘Jai Ho’ which became the toast of the town in almost every part of the world, Sukhwinder went on to dole out numbers like Woha Kisna Hai to pay homage to Lord Krishna.

He also enthralled the audience with his Salman-starrer Hud Hud Dabang.  While he hit the floor and danced to the tunes of Ban Than Chali Bolo, he also bought the spellbound audience to dance to his spirit-lifting Monsoon Wedding song, Aji mera jee karda …. Rabba Rabba Mee Barsa. The singer was also loud and clear about his love for The Yoga Institute as he credited his good health, peace of mind and happiness to Yoga and his guru Smt. Hansaji.

Some of the students from the Institute also wowed the audience with their performances.  While Rahul twisted and turned like an elastic band that made many jaws drop, Karishma’s melodious bhajan ‘Radha Dhundh Rahi’ upped the ante of the Janmashtami celebrations.  Prem also expressed his love for Krishna by singing the all time favourite ‘Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram’.

Hansaji also took the opportunity to share about the dedication, transformation, and evolution of a celebrity like Sukhwinder Singh with the help of Yoga.  The evening ended with the singer touching the feet of his Yoga Guru, Hansaji and seeking her blessings.
