97th Foundation Day Celebration

The 97th Foundation Day of The Yoga Institute Santacruz was celebrated on the 25th of December 2016 with Hon. Vice Chancellor of NMIMS Juhu, Dr. Rajan Saxena as the Chief Guest. Another honoured guest was Shri Suresh Bharwani of Jet King.

Dr. Saxena in his humility began his talk by saying, “When I was asked to visit the Institute I thought they wanted me there as a student but was surprised that I was invited to be the Chief Guest and address the students and faculty.”

In his interesting speech, Dr. Saxena said, “As an educationist I realize the importance of liberal education exposing people to various topics.” He added that was a sure way of helping one to grow in their potential.

He spoke a great deal about how when he read about the history of The Yoga Institute that, several generations have dedicated themselves in all sincerity to help humanity.

Dr. Saxena released a new booklet on the work of The Yoga Institute called ‘Our Journey – 1918 Onwards.’

Two new games called, ‘Snakes and Ladders’ based on the concepts of Self Development through Classical Yoga and the Holistic Approach to Back and Joint through Classical Yoga were also released.

Shri Sharad and Smt. Priyam Waghmare compeered the programme very ably and eloquently at the newly inaugurated and beautifully decorated spacious hall on the ground floor.

In the evening, Shri Sukhwinder Singh, the renowned singer, presented a delightful musical programme in the garden of The Yoga Institute and enthralled the huge audience. His entourage of musicians included Shri Sudip Ghosh, Shri Rajiv Prasanna, Ms. Madhvi, Shri Amar Desai and Ms. Hetal Singh.
