Listen to the audio:Check this out on ChirbitQ. How to be unaffected by the senses in this householder state? Dr. J: One easy way would be to buy ear plugs. It would save you from unnecessary talks. Smt. H: Being a householder does not mean we let go of all discipline. We must do things only when they are necessary. I always say in the pregnancy camp, when parents have a small child, the child will wake up many times at night. Now the child will need its mother as the mother will be feeding it. So the father need not wake up every time. If both wake up, both their sleep will be disturbed and they will start fighting. So the father needs to use ear plugs and sleep. Now householders should have clarity on how much each should be involved.Q. My husband enjoys food, especially one item. He wants to eat that all the time. If there is something that you know (is going wrong) in the situation, try to correct it. Smt. H: When husband is doing something wrong, wife getting into depression is totally wrong. She should continue doing her duty and start the action, find out how to go about bringing sanity into their life and so on if it is possible. Otherwise, at least you maintain your own duty. We have many other roles in life, as a mother, as a daughter, as a member of society and nation. So we should do all those duties and not suffer because of the husband.Q. If you like too much then the dislike is too much. Smt. H: Do not get into extremes. My personal opinion is that we have no right to have likes and dislikes. We have to, in any case, accept things as they are. If you dislike something, it is your problem, your blood pressure will go high, you will fall sick. Don't develop likes and dislikes, stay above such things.Q. How to control the worried and restless mind?

Listen to the audio:Check this out on ChirbitQ. What is neutral thinking? Please elaborate. Dr. J: Being unbalanced is dangerous. You are hungry, but being hungry you lose yourself and overeat and there mistakes occur and this goes on. We sometimes are living only for eating and drinking. This upsets our schedule, our diet. Yoga talks about balanced state. We must maintain a balanced state and do the right thing at the right time which we are unable to do. We easily get drawn, lost, forgetful. I don’t know whether this is thought by you, the subject of overeating? No? You are just smiling. These things do happen and it is then that mistakes happen. You see, Diabetes and all such diseases are a result of wrong eating. Later on we are in a very bad condition, in the last stages, we have to watch what we are doing. We can save ourselves but we just can’t control.

Listen to the audio:Check this out on ChirbitQ. I have tonsillitis, there is pus formation in my throat. Which technique will help me? Dr. J: I think in the beginning you should have an Allopathy doctor to give you a check-up and simple measures may help like gargling with salt water or even sometimes medicine, but it should be just for a few days. Smt. H: If there is pus formation, then naturally there is a strong infection and that has to be killed by a proper strong medicine, so Allopathy in the beginning. But then come to right lifestyle, as we say in yoga, gargling, Jalneti, use of hot water bag on the throat, drinking little warm water after eating food, to help wash the throat, if it is dry then keeping lozenges in the mouth as a lubricant, so in all such ways tonsillitis would go away. '-Itis' means inflammation which is due to infection. When the infection goes, the inflammation goes. In the future, make sure you do some friction on the throat region and around the ears with the hands, to keep the region warm. Illness doesn’t harm, to come out of it, we develop more strength. So take illness positively, not negatively; the mind should not get disturbed.Q. Listen to the audio:Check this out on ChirbitQ. Girl and boy both agree for love marriage but the girl’s parents are against the marriage. How should yoga apply in this stage of life? Dr. J: I think the Yogis should become parents and then get their children married. Then problems will be less. Smt. H: You see, parents are after all parents and they have a fear. They have their own tendencies, their own ideas. You can try and make them understand or make them understand that with or without their yes you would still get married. If they see your determination, maybe they would agree, otherwise still do it and after they see you are happy, they will be happy. They are not your enemies but maybe they have their own rigid ideas. I’ll give you my example, my parents didn’t want me to get married to Dr. Jayadeva, it was out of the question. But I was determined and I said ‘I am in any case getting married.’ And I left the house and came, got married. Then afterwards they saw that I had settled and didn’t want to come back, they were happy and once Patanjali was born, they were most happy. Then they were talking and joining us.
