The topic for the Hindi Satsang on Sunday, 20th January, 2013 was ‘Mind.’
Following is the transcript of the speech made by Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra on the topic.
“Mind is our only instrument. The body does not have any sense, it is just like a machine. It is the mind that decides and implements the decision. But unfortunately, our mind remains occupied with many useless things. We have not a trained mind, in fact it is a liability. We have so many other occupations, worries, etc. So the instrument which has to be used for a given purpose, is not available. We all can become brilliant people, we can do work very well; capacities are there. But that kind of a mind is not there. The desire, that kind of objective is lacking. So the result is that this mind of ours, at any time, is just wandering- thinks of one thing, thinks of another thing, imagines, and we spend days after days like that. So in the end, we are very unhappy that we have not done the things which we should have done. The fact was, we never thought of it, we never worked for it. And the result – we didn’t achieve much. Somehow because of our position in society, parentage, background, we are carried on and we are able to live. But if we examine it properly, we have not lived well. We had some good ideas, but we never implemented them. We go away in the end, unhappy and sad.”
