Teens on the threshold of Youth:-
Curiosity and arrogance stemming out of restless quests is the typical nature of a teenage mind. The right approach and guidance is through yoga.
On 20.5.016, The Yoga Institute conducted a “Holiday Yoga Camp” at “Wadia Vachha” School, Dadar (W), for a group of 140 curious, challenging Parsi youngsters in the age group of 16 to 19 years. The Yoga Institute has been participating in these programmes for the past 11 yrs.
This programme gave extensive exposure to career and emotional guidance besides the several disciplines of yoga like Asanas, Pranayamas, Kriyas, etc and conceptual games. However the important exposure to “Parikarmas” had lukewarm receptivity initially but, once the momentum was set in by enacting the concepts their natural, inane talents added fuel to their exuberance and they enjoyed the session to the optimum.
It is interesting to note the participant’s honest comments. To quote their words, “Contrary to our expectations of a boring dull session, which we thought was meant for the old and the complacent, the session, to our pleasant surprise, turned out to be delightfully energizing. We gained insights into the concepts of Yoga Philosophy. Asanas were easy and simple to practice,Pranayamas were reinforcing and overall we thoroughly enjoyed and would love to come again.”
