Home Remedies to Reduce Facial Hair Permanently

Stress and anxiety have increased as a result of today’s fast-paced culture. All of these factors combined have led to hormonal imbalance. Hormonal imbalance can cause a variety of health problems, including an increase in facial hair in women. Women do not naturally produce as much facial hair as men, but this disturbance in the body might cause the growth of thick facial hair. Furthermore, this can have a negative impact on one’s self-esteem.

So here are few natural remedies to get rid of facial hair safely:

1.  Face packs:

a.  Turmeric, gram flour, lemon juice, and sandalwood paste.

  • Add 2 tsp turmeric to 3 tsp gram flour in a bowl. Squeeze half a lemon and add two pinches of sandalwood.
  • Apply on the face and leave it for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse with water and dry the face.

Apply this paste for at least a month for better results. It reduces facial hair by initially thinning it. It also softens the skin and brightens the tone.

b.  Honey and Lemon Juice:

  • Combine 1 tablespoon of honey and ½ tablespoon of lemon juice.
  • Apply the mixture to your skin.
  • Leave it on for 20 minutes.
  • Soak a washcloth in warm water. Squeeze out the excess water.
  • Gently wipe off the honey-lemon paste and rinse with cool water.

Apply this pack three times a week. Along with reducing unnecessary hair growth, honey has natural brightening and hydrating properties.

2.  Food Management for Hormonal Balance

Some foods that can help with facial hair are:

a.  Soya: Soya is excellent for balancing the hormones as it has phytoestrogens. These help in balancing the less amount of estrogen and reduce the hair growth eventually. All soy-based products like tofu, soy milk, and soy chunks can be beneficial.

b.  Sesame seeds, Sunflower seeds, Flax seeds, dried fruits, Garlic, Peaches, Oats, Barley, Lentils, Mung beans, rice bran all help in increasing the estrogen in the body and reducing the excessive facial hair naturally.

c.  Consume cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower.

These foods should be consumed keeping in mind that the person is not allergic to soy or phytoestrogens.

3.  Reducing weight:

Losing weight can help reduce the imbalance caused by estrogen (female hormone) and testosterone (male hormone). Usually, excessive weight reduces estrogen and increases other hormones leading to an increase in hair growth. So work on naturally reducing your overall weight.

4.  Asanas to reduce facial hair:

  • Bhadrasana (Supta and Sitting)
  • Paryankasana
  • Vajrasana
  • Matsyasana
  • Abdominal breathing
  • Virasana
  • Mandukasana

These asanas help with the proper production of estrogen by promoting blood flow near the pelvic region. They also help in the proper functioning of the reproductive system.

Don’t let feelings of inferiority overtake your mind. Accept yourself and adapt to a healthier lifestyle to stay happy and fit.
