How to prevent the growth of Uterine Fibroids?

Fibroids are noncancerous growths in the uterus or along its inner walls that occur during a woman’s childbearing years. They grow in different sizes and the quantity varies from person to person.

Heavy menstrual blood, a continual urge to urinate, pain in the lower abdomen or pelvic region, leg pain or backaches, and constipation are some of the symptoms. While there are no definitive signs or symptoms that indicate the presence of fibroids, obesity, poor eating habits, delayed pregnancy, early periods, and a lack of fitness are all possible causes.

You should take the following steps to lower your risk of fibroids:

1. Avoid eating foods that increase estrogen levels:

Foods like flaxseeds, sesame seeds, soybeans, garlic, berries, and cabbage increase estrogen levels in our bodies. This increases the risk of fibroids. As alternatives, consume fruits and vegetables that are rich in fiber and water content for balance and weight loss.

2. Avoid drinking or smoking:

Consumption of alcohol or nicotine raises the risk of fibroids. If you’re experiencing symptoms or issues, you shouldn’t indulge because it could increase your hormone level and cause inflammation. A high intake of caffeine can also add to the risks. As healthier alternatives, choose herbal or green teas.

3. Avoid meat and high-calorie foods:

Excessive consumption of meat and high-calorie foods such as cheese, butter, bread, ice cream, etc. can lead to obesity, which raises the risk of developing the disease. To reduce the risk, eat a well-balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains. Preferably opt for healthy fats derived from dry fruits.

4. Avoid excessive sugar consumption:

Sugar consumption must be controlled or limited because it increases the risk. Our blood sugar levels are raised when we consume refined sugar, which leads to an increase in insulin production. This could contribute to weight gain and the risk of fibroids. Instead, have natural sources of fructose like fresh fruits and unsweetened juices to satisfy your cravings.
