In continuation of the celebrations of Smt. Hansaji Yogendra’s birthday, which fell on 8th October, a special cultural programme was conducted during the Sunday Satsang on 12th October 2014.
Hansaji is known for her love of classical music and cultural arts such as dance and drama. As a young girl, she actively participated in such training personally and in school. Keeping this in mind, the Sadhakas of The Yoga Institute organized the cultural programme in her honour.
Renowned Kathak exponent Dr. Tina Tambe along with two accompanying dancers performed three spiritually rife and beautiful dances which depicted three different instances in the life of Lord Krishna.
Following the lively performance, Hrishi J. Yogendra, Hansaji’s son, shared with the audience, the amount of inspiration and learning he has personally received from Hansaji. A bold, level-headed woman, who inspires and guides all, Hansaji is also involved in an initiative to help uplift the less fortunate or abused people of society.
The main hall of The Yoga Institute was then filled by the soft and melodic tones of Ankita Joshi, a renowned Hindustani classical singer, accompanied with the tabla and harmonium. The spiritual songs inspired all in the audience to delve into a calmer and peaceful state.
In the end, Hansaji gave special thanks to the performers for making her birthday celebrations special and for all in the audience for being there. She wished everyone well and hoped that they would all strive to uplift themselves continuously in life.
