“Dr. Jayadeva gave a very clear message that a strong decision has to come to the mind that I am not going to speak lies and untruth. You don't need more explanation here, it's just a question of decision. The more words we use, the more there is wrong interpretation. When we talk more than what is required, usually it ends in untruth because its leads to misinterpretation. People who are on the path of truth would speak very less.

Listen to the audio: Check this out on Chirbit Q. How to find the answer to whether we should do something or not, without getting confused. Dr. J: If you are in need, you must do; if not in need, then don't do. Smt. H: Then before deciding on how to do anything, you have to keep your mind quiet. Stop thinking and analyzing. Analyze before, but then keep your mind quiet. And then, the first thought that comes to you, do that, because it hardly matters in Nature whether you are going this way or that, as long as you are going. That is important.

“There is a saying in Sanskrit, ‘Shraddha-mayo 'yam purushah.’ It means that a human being is made of Shraddha / faith. The more the faith, the greater is the person. We have little faith. Real faith is never in some material thing or to attain something, it is only in God. He is behind everything that is happening. But we are not able to have such faith, so our faith has no meaning. There should be no vested interest behind faith. Faith is peace. When a person is peaceful and wise and thinks accordingly, he has real faith. We are unable to reach such a state and so our faith is weak and many times we do not get certain things. Keep faith and you will automatically get things.”

Q. Which technique should be used to manage anger? Smt. H: There are many techniques. Some people, when angry, lock themselves in the bathroom and start singing. Some people just go for a run for 1 or 2 Kms and come back. Some people take a cold bath, some go for shopping but don't buy anything. Some do some Asanas, Pranayama or meditation. There are various ways, every human will have to find out for themselves what helps them overpower their anger immediately. But something has to be done. Any yoga technique will help. Do Jalneti, then automatically the mind will settle down. Find out according to the time and situation what you can do. If your boss is shouting, you can do Yogendra Pranayama IV, which he will not be able to see. Main thing is bring some compassion, understand and love for the opposite person in your mind and don't react.

“Ahimsa is a such a subject that we seriously need to give a thought to because we are doing Himsa all the time. The first Himsa we do is to ourselves. People come and tell me, ‘Hansaji, I feel hurt very fast if someone doesn’t behave properly with me.’ Expecting others to behave in a certain way, speak and smile in a certain way, makes it difficult. All that is not possible. It is important to accept people the way they are. See their positive qualities and accept them.

“One simple way, even when you are getting angry, is to start smiling. The more you smile, the less the anger. Ultimately you will find out that people who are used to laughing are the ones who will help in stopping you from getting angry. This is a practical example.”

"Yoga talks about faith. When we use the words 'saints' and 'sages' what's most outstanding in their personality is their strong faith in God or Higher Reality. Once a person has faith, then all the fear, anxiety, tension, worry goes away because you are not running the whole show. Someone else whom we call higher reality or consciousness or God, etc. they are running the whole show.
