Listen to the Audio: Check this out on Chirbit “It is certain now that if we bring positive thoughts in the mind, experience happiness and Ananda (bliss), then there will be no sadness in the mind. This method is simple and straight forward. But we are not able to do this. If you will notice, right from the morning we keep thinking wrong things. Note down what you think during the whole day. If something happens, those kind of thoughts begin and by evening we are scared. This is a wrong training given to the mind. If we are learning yoga, then we need to bring in enthusiastic and blissful thoughts. The technique is very simple. Bring happiness and bliss in life and automatically the wrong kinds of thoughts will reduce. Such a simple technique.” - Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra

“We have a mind and its job is to think. The mind does its job very well. Yoga clearly states that we always have a choice. We do not have a choice with the kind of situations we face or the circumstances that stand before but we always have a choice on how we face them. We can feel good or bad about the same situation, it is totally up to us how we choose to behave.

Listen to the audio: Check this out on Chirbit Q. Is Sayyam possible in present times? Smt. H: Yoga talks of Sayyam- Dharna, Dhyana and Samadhi. Yoga does not talk about unscientific things. What yoga offers is definitely possible. It's just that in present times we don't see any persons on this path and if they are, we don't know about them. But it definitely is possible. Q. Sometimes when something wrong happens, what is that? Can miracles be negative also?

Listen to the audio: Check this out on Chirbit Q. Avidya is the inability to see things as they are. Can you elaborate on this? Dr. J: This universe is infinite. We don't know how vast, but we leave it there. Smt. H: A simple example - what is our position in this whole world? Where is our Earth? How many suns are there in the whole galaxy? So many suns and so many planets are there. And then our Earth, in India, in Mumbai we are there. So that's our position. We are such tiny things. But we think of ourselves to be quite great, as if without us the world can't run, without us the house can't run. Without us everything can run. We are nothing. So first of all, we have to remove that ignorance, we have to accept things as they are. If a person is not capable, accept and move ahead. The point is seeing things as they are, i.e. try to see things clearly, see what's your position and understand accordingly. Q. In practical life, they say ignorance is bliss. How do you explain?

Listen to the audio: Check this out on Chirbit Q. How do we judge ourselves? Smt. H: If you don't know what you are, then who else will know? So there is no question of judging; observe yourself, how much you can do in a day, how much you feel comfortable with, make a diary. This has to be done in various areas - how much can you eat, what time would be more comfortable, how much sleep you need, how much activity your body can take, etc. So know thyself thoroughly well, then only can you move ahead in life. You are going to progress slowly, slowly, no doubt about it. Q. What are the parameters to know that progress is occuring?

“Our I-sense or Ego is the outcome of Ignorance (Avidya). These are our Kleshas (afflictions) and we are born with them. A young child does not demonstrate this ego but when this child goes to school, we instill this I-sense within the young child by teaching him that this school bag belongs to him, this water bottle belongs to him, this is his mother or his father or his sister etc. And such is necessary too to be able to function in this world. It is his homework and he has to complete it, he cannot say otherwise. Hence, this I-sense is important but when we impose this I-sense on others, then it becomes Ego.

Listen to the audio: Check this out on Chirbit Q. These days my wife keeps asking me why I don't smile. What shall I do? Dr. J: After listening to this lecture, you will smile because you will not think 'I, me, mine' all the time. Smt. H: The joy is in living for others. We should not say, this is me, this is my personality and I will not smile. We should learn to smile. It's not much to ask for. One should make a conscious effort. Be relaxed, think that God is great, accept her and smile. Q. How can energy come inspite of bad qualities?

Listen to the Audio: “The solution given here is to not use the word ‘I’. But we are unable to function without it. Like goats, all day we keep doing ‘Main, main, main’ (Me, me, me). In reality, we do many contrary things and don’t keep this in mind. Our mind gets so caught up that we cannot see good in others. This is a spiritual subject and those who are interested in spirituality, should think on this.” “The solution given here is to not use the word ‘I’. But we are unable to function without it. Listen to the audio: Check this out on Chirbit Q. In corporate jobs, the deadlines never end. Sometimes you cannot avoid stress. How to deal with it? Dr. J: Don't extend yourself into corporate business. If you get into corporate business - more stress. If you remain at a lower level - less stress. Smt. H: Dr. Jayadeva's philosophy is very clear - more and more promotion, more and more stress, so don't accept promotion. It would help to learn the art of management. Any work can be done with or without stress. So we have to learn how to enjoy the work and not get tense. Tension comes when we are result oriented. There may be a fixed target, but what can you do? You can only plan and work every minute. Tension will not help meet the target. If the target is not met, reorganize and try again. Plan and systematize your work. The mind should be work oriented, not result oriented. And if you could concentrate more on the work, everything will fall into place. Q. Can you share some suggestions when there is emotional stress when there is disagreement between two or more people?
