15th December 2013 - Sunday - Positivity "It is certain now that if we bring positive thoughts in the mind, we experience happiness and Ananda (bliss), then there will be no sadness in the mind. This method is simple and straight forward. But we are not able to do this. If you will notice, right from the morning we keep thinking wrong things. Note down what you think during the whole day. If something happens, those kind of thoughts begin and by evening we are scared. This is a wrong training given to the mind. If we are learning yoga, then we need to bring in enthusiastic and blissful thoughts. The technique is very simple. Bring happiness and bliss in life and automatically the wrong kinds of thoughts will reduce. Such a simple technique.” 16th December 2013 - Monday - Vanaprastha

4th November 2013 - Monday - Asmita "Asmita is not telling lies this is a word which looks very ordinary but we tell lies and this is a great mistake. We have to reach the highest in yoga and this a great handicap. Better learn to be free from this kind of bad habits. Let us be free let us be truthful, relaxed that’s the whole idea." 5th November 2013 - Tuesday - Bhagwad Gita 5.23-5.24

29th September 2013 - Sunday - Relaxation and tension “There is tension in speaking and there is tension is in your coming here and listening. Tension is there all the time. Finally, it is your attitude that matters. If you take life as it comes – no tension; and if you take every event in life as a great event, challenge, tension is there. We have to learn how to accept. Otherwise we are always trying to get ready and face and that is causing tension. We have never learnt it till the end that a balanced mind, which carries out its activities, does its job, can become relaxed. But a mind which is not ready, always trying to prepare itself, face situations, rise up, achieve excellence, gets into tension. We have to accept life and it can be of great help. Accept it as it is and do your best.” 30th September 2013 - Monday - Tapa

8th September 2013 - Sunday - Dealing with depression “We all suffer from depression. Otherwise we wouldn't get disturbed. We come to know, listen, but we don’t understand. You see, this ability to understand is a central factor. We give in to negative thoughts. Things are bad, going to the worst and all that kind. So we are a bundle of confusion, doubts, fear; there is no positivity. Unfortunately these have increased and today most of us have this kind of feeling where we take it that the world is going to the dogs, things are not going to get better, we have to just suffer and all that. Yoga begins with positive thinking. If you sit for a few minutes, eyes closed, watching your breathing; a good feeling does come and you get peace, mind is very clear, develop faith. If one can do it regularly, some amount of strength also comes. Those who have problems like depression, fear, they have to begin somewhere. Just thinking and feeling sad is not the answer. So many who have taken to yoga, they do some yoga practices, have good company, talk something better and changes happen. So depression has a good answer – do things, be optimistic.” 9th September 2013 - Monday - Satya

31st August 2013 - Saturday - Yoga for Education “We were expecting a group of 200 children but they have not turned up. We will talk a little about education. I don't know how you look at this theme, yoga for education. Any ideas? (A student speaks) Is cleaning the nose yoga? (Another student speaks) You see, there is this word, Dincharya. It means routines. And as you know, in India, right from the early childhood this education was there, just like when to get up, what is the first activity one should do and all these little little things. They were actually taught and till a very advanced age the wise have followed it. So you see them living a very different kind of life. This education is not taught nowadays. The education that we learn is getting related to going to school, taking up a job and all that. So yoga education is a little different thing, more about life and living it.” 1st September 2013 - Sunday - Anitya Bhavana, Pratipaksha Bhavana, Nispandabhava
