Vertigo or feeling of dizziness as if you are still and world is rotating around you. Vertigo is mainly caused due to an inner ear problem. Commonly BPPV- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo is seen due to tiny calcium deposits that clump the inner ear canal. The main function of inner ear is to send signals to the brain region about movements related to gravity. This aids and regulates the balance of your body.

Another common cause is Meniere’s disorder this occurs due to fluid built up resulting in pressure change in the inner ear. This causes the episodes of vertigo along with ringing sound or tinnitus.

Vestibule neuritis is inflammation of the inner ear generally due to viral infection. Generally the nerves around the inner ear are affected.

Cervical spondylitis and sinusitis also cause vertigo symptoms mostly seen in elderly. Another common reason seen is postural defects and sudden change in bodily movements.

Common symptoms experienced that either come or go intermittently which can last from few minutes to few hours
